So we love Asian food here at BookSumo Press.
And as Asian food lovers, of course we are no strangers to different types of fried rice.
But all good things must come to end.
So we are officially saying so long to our love of fried rice.
And saying hello to fried chicken.
You see, the BookSumo staff, and the BookSumo Press headquarters are in an urban part of New Jersey.
And if you ever get a chance to come to the more urban areas of Jersey, or places like Queens, Brooklyn, or the Bronx.
You can go to one of these places called: “Chicken Spots”.
Now depending on where you are from.
You may or may not have heard of the term “Chicken Spot”.
But now you know.
A “Chicken Spot” is basically a take-out place for only fried foods like: chicken, fries, cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, coleslaw, mashed potatoes, and things like that.
When you find one.
The outside of the store will have a bright colored awning, usually red, orange, or yellow, the store is open 24 hrs, and the inside of the store is always super bright.
Here is a picture of a typical urban “Chicken Spot Meal”:
Now we know what you may be thinking…
That looks so unhealthy.
And honestly it is.
Chicken spot food is something you only eat once a month or less.
Although we eat it more than that.
But let us tell you something about this unhealthy food.
It tastes good.
So good, in fact.
If you ever have it, you will definitely crave it again.
And it’s also very inexpensive.
So what is the point of this blog post?
Well the first point is to teach you what a “chicken spot” is.
So the next time you are in the area (Jersey or NYC) you have an adventure for the night i.e. going to a chicken spot and tasting the food.
The second point is to teach you what real fried chicken is.
So given that we’ve said good bye to fried rice.
And hello to fried chicken, we invite you to join us in this adventure.
