What do you think about buffalo?
Not Buffalo, NY, or the buffalo animal.
We’re talking about buffalo style cooking.
Buffalo Wings, Buffalo Chicken, Buffalo Fries, Buffalo Dumplings, etc.
One of our absolute favorite dishes is buffalo fries.
Let’s learn how to make some.
Because you will learn two things:
- How to make some deliciously spicy fries
- How to make a simple buffalo sauce (that you can use to also make buffalo wings as well).
Ok so to make this recipe use frozen fries from the freezer.
But you can also cut up a few fresh potatoes instead, if you like.
You want about 15 oz of fries or potatoes or about 2 cups.
Lay out the fries on a baking sheet and roast them in the oven until they are done (this is about 15-20 mins of baking at 325 degrees).
As the fries are cooking, get started on your buffalo sauce.
You will need: 1 tsp vinegar, 1/4 C. butter, and 1/2 C. hot sauce.
Add all the sauce ingredients to a pot and get it all simmering while stirring.
Once the sauce is smooth, top your fries or potatoes with it, when they are done cooking.
After topping the fries add some cheese.
The official published version of this recipe calls for some blue cheese, but you can use any type of cheese that you have laying around.
Or you can continue without cheese.
So add your cheese and put everything back in the oven to just melt the cheese (for 3 mins).
Take out your buffalo fries, let them cool, and that’s it, delicious fries with a homemade buffalo sauce.
The buffalo sauce we just made, is a simple one, but its the foundation you need to make delicious wings like this:
All you have to do is fry some chicken wings then coat them with the same sauce (double the recipe) then place everything in the oven to bake for about 10 to 15 mins.
